Empowering Community Voices: Environmental Justice Workshop

Join us Sunday, November 9, from 3–5 PM for Empowering Community Voices: Environmental Justice Workshop at Laulima Nature Center. This special event will explore how community members can influence conservation legislation in Hawaiʻi.

Learn how to propose and support bills, work with local organizations, and overcome barriers to participation in politics. Light refreshments and time to connect with fellow attendees will follow.

Space is limited. Please RSVP here.

Guest speakers:

  • Jordan Lerma is the Executive Director of Nene.org.

  • Bec Jimenez-Ward is an environmental justice practitioner who works at the intersections of environmental justice, education, and community care. They currently serve as Senior Coordinator of Environmental Justice Programs at the National Wildlife Federation, where they help build partnerships, shape strategy, and create tools that resource and uplift frontline communities across Turtle Island and the illegally occupied lands of Hawai‘i.
